mitigating your life
My path as a social worker led me to forensic social work and mitigation. Most notably used in capital cases where someone’s life is at stake, a mitigation specialist uncovers a person’s life history - not to excuse but to understand how someone got to that place in their life.
The mitigation narrative serves as a humanizing story of someone’s life. Things are never as black and white as society’s crime and punishment system makes it out to be.
By using the same principles, we can apply this own process to our own life.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in clinical practice, I have experience in identifying and treating complex trauma. Through a bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens, I translate clients’ life experience into a social history narrative.
