Therapy
I believe it is important to honor where you are and where you have been before reaching me.
I believe each person’s healing journey is unique and I offer a collaborative space to build upon or create a new understanding of what healing looks like for you. As a therapist of color and bi-racial woman, I work from a multi-cultural approach and welcome your own ancestral and cultural healing traditions as part of our work together.
Together, we can work alongside each other to uncover the healing and resiliency I believe is within everyone.
My approach includes somatic therapies that support processing trauma and finding well-being, while acknowledging that systems of oppression continue to harm despite personal healing work.
My Approach
I have experience working with the following:
trauma including complex PTSD and dissociation, harm from oppressive systems, and interpersonal harm
grief and loss
interpersonal distress relating to family of origin and/or chosen family, work and career, close relationships
experiences related to first & second generation immigrants, biracial identity, and interracial relationships
Rates
My full fee rate is $200 per 50-minute session.
I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone and offer sliding scale rates based on need.
I do not accept insurance but can provide a super bill upon request.
Trauma Resiliency Model
The Trauma Resiliency Model is a somatic approach that focuses on noticing sensations in your body to heal your nervous system. Our nervous system and our resilience can be deeply impacted by major traumas and/or chronic stress, thus by connecting to our body, we can use its inherent wisdom to help regulate our bodies and ease our minds.
EMDR & Brainspotting
Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a trauma treatment that uses bilateral eye movements, hand-tapping or audio stimulation effective in alleviating distress, reformulating negative beliefs, and reducing physiological arousal related to traumatic material.
Brainspotting locates points in your visual field to help access unprocessed trauma in the brain. Brainspotting does not require a person to speak of or explicitly remember trauma in order to heal from it.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy
IPT focuses on attachment and communication style to build skills necessary to improve interpersonal functioning. Through this approach, we focus on relationships, roles and identity, and communication to help identify and express your needs more clearly, ultimately feeling seen and heard in your relationships and communities.
